My DVD still won't play!

And I have no idea how to work this damn thing.

When I hit play, the computer makes a sound as if it's about to play the disc, but then nothing happens.

Any idea what might be causing this?

I'm not sure how much i'll be able to help, but make sure the VDV's are right
side up. second, make sure they aren't scratched and will play on other devices.
third thing i can suggest is to find the dvd through your file browser and use
your context menu to try to play it.

Never did get the damn thing to work. Ended up using Power DVD.
